9 Benefits Of A Clean House That Will Actually Make You Want To Clean or Hire A Maid Service in Fort Lauderdale

Maid Service Fort Lauderdale

I hate cleaning.

There, I admitted it. I really HATE cleaning!

The time, grossness, and effort that goes with it… I would really prefer to pay someone else to do it if I could afford to. If I ever do start earning more money, then I would certainly hire a Fort Lauderdale maid service. However, until that day comes, I will carry on suffering.

I will admit, I am a bit dramatic too.

Yet at the same time, I am well aware of what a clean house does for me.

For example, last weekend, Joseph and I decided to tackle our master bathroom which I have been putting off. Even though I kept thinking that cleaning the bathroom would be a terrible task, I was really surprised that we spent only 20 minutes to get this room back to where it should be.

My mood also improved drastically after this little cleaning session and it made me think why I was feeling so frustrated, to begin with. Once the bathroom was clean, I was less stressed, happier, and I even rewarded myself by taking a bit of time for some light reading. This time I didn’t feel guilty or frustrated about how the rest of my house looked.

Perhaps you detest cleaning your house as I do. Or you wish that there were easier ways to get these tasks done. While I cannot come to your home to clean your toilets and bathrooms on your behalf, I am able to share a few surprising benefits to helps these tasks seem a lot less awful.

In fact, you might even find that you will want to start cleaning after reading this post!

1. Your Family Will Be Healthier

This may seem obvious but is well worth mentioning. Dander, bacteria, dust, and mold cause many health concerns such as asthma and allergies. Cleaning regularly will dramatically lower the risks of illnesses and sickness, helping to create a healthier environment for you and your family.

If you use non-toxic cleaning products, I highly recommend giving Grove Collaborative a try. This has been my source for cleaning products over the past year, and the products are shipped directly to your home.

2. Increase Your Opportunities To Become More Hospitable

I am not sure how you react, but if one of my friends surprises me with a visit and my home is a mess, I spend most of my time over-explaining why my home looks the way it does. It is not only embarrassing, but I also become extremely anxious thinking about how the state of my house is reflecting on my reputation.

Don’t misunderstand me, your home doesn’t need to be in a state of perfection to impress. But, a quick pick-up and wipe down every day, will ensure your home looks better.

I spend around 10 to 15 minutes each evening putting stuff back where it belongs and clearing counters. This does make a significant difference at the end of the day!

3. Fewer Repairs And Maintenance

When your appliances are in good working condition, you will end up spending less money and time to replace or repair them. You may be wondering how to do this? Well, you need to keep them clean. I am always on the lookout for ways to avoid unnecessary costs. This means giving a little bit more attention to make sure things like my dishwasher or dryer are running smoothly.

If you are unsure that you will have enough time to tackle all these extra tasks when you are already struggling to keep the dishes and laundry under control, I recommend first working out your cleaning schedule. I have found that when I established my regular routine it became easier to add 1 deep-cleaning task every week (or month) without much hassle.

4. Quick Bursts Of Physical Exercise

Cleaning sessions helps to get my blood flowing and increases my heart rate, particularly when vacuuming or scrubbing down showers. My vacuum cleaner is heavy, so it’s similar to a weight-lifting session.

If you are not into exercising, yet you would like to stay healthy and active, just tackle a couple of cleaning tasks for 20 to 30 minutes and you would have achieved a full-body workout. Forget about those expensive gym memberships, vacuuming your floors is already a workout for that day!

5. Stop Wasting Time

I know this may sound really simple, but when you take 2 to 3 minutes to put everything away once you are done with it, the effects are amazing. This will mean you have a lot less mess to pack away or clean up later. You will also find it easier to find items when you need them again. This will save you a lot of time, which is as equally important as saving your money!

6. Feel Less Guilty About Your Downtime

Do you ever feel guilty when you read a book or watch Netflix? I find it difficult to relax. This mostly happens when I start thinking about everything that needs cleaning.

I once had a day that I set aside for cleaning, but now my cleaning activities are spread across the week. On Mondays, I do my master bathroom, on a Tuesday, I do the kitchen, and so it goes on. As soon as I have completed that task for that day, I can then move onto other projects or allow myself to enjoy some downtime.

You can almost compare it to finishing your chores for the day, so now you are allowed to go out and play. You will also start feeling a lot less guilty or distracted about how your home looks. 7. Increase Your Productivity

After recently listening to Jeff Goins’s podcast, he mentioned something that set off a lightbulb. “Clutter is the enemy of creativity”.

There is a lot of truth in this. I find it very difficult to function or become creative if my home is dirty and cluttered. I am unable to even write blog posts when my desk is messy and stacked with papers.

When your home is clean it will give you a mental and literal space to work in, and it will allow you the freedom to exclusively focus on your tasks. This will help you to become a lot more productive.

8. Increase Your Control

When you get that feeling that everything in your life is upside down, take the time to look closely around your house. What are you seeing? Is it filled with clutter, toys, crumbs, or stains? These are the things that could be causing massive frustration and anxiety.

When you have more control over such things and you choose to vacuum or sweep your floors. Or you pack away the clutter and wipe down your counters, this will instantly affect how you are feeling and your mood.

Yes, it does take a bit of work and time, but once you gain control over your immediate environment, you will start feeling more in control over your life and your days in general.

9. A Feeling Of Accomplishment

Remember when I mentioned how I spoke about a feeling of accomplishment that I experienced after I cleaned the master bathroom? When I knew that I had completed this task, I felt happy and more energetic.

A quick look over a tidy and clean home will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling after you have ticked all your cleaning tasks off your list. It will also help to motivate you to carry on with this habit into the future.

Your idea and vision of a clean house might be very different from the next person, so decide what makes you feel comfortable. Certain women just love cleaning ( I am not one of those). Others do just what is needed, leaving deep cleaning until they decide to move house.

Regardless of your ideals, cleaning can make that slight inconvenience really worthwhile, and it will result in a more productive, healthier, and happier life overall. This is something I am more than willing to get my hands dirty for, or hire a maid service. What about you?
